Found them... Feet and Thumb!

Well, Kaleb has found his "feet!"

He seems to be trying to figure out how to get the brace off?!?!?

Kaleb has also found his thumb! Momma is worried, and doesn't like it, even if it is cute as can be!

Here's our big guy at 4 months old! He's doing wonderful and growing like crazy... He weighed 14 lbs. 7 1/2 oz. and was 25 1/2 inches long at his check-up!

Sunday at the park

Our lifegroup from church went to Imagination Station Park for a picnic on 5/23/10. Here are Kaleb and Evan saying "hi" (Evan belongs to Anthony and Heather Whaley and he is ONE day younger than Kaleb!)

Blake, Kaleb and Daddy chillin on the blanket

My sweet boys loving on each other

And after a full evening of playing with his friends in the hot sun, Blake tuckered out and went to sleep!!!

Blake goes to the fair...

We braved the parking lot fair a few weeks ago... Blake loved it! Here he is riding the boats (don't you love his "wave")

Then on to the train... Blake always wants to ride in the caboose (and check out that cop, does he look familiar??? Yep, its daddy!)

The 4-wheelers were the biggest hit. Blake was so serious and rode this ride several times in a row!

And another serious face on the flying dragons (or whatever these green things are?)

Growing up so fast

Kaleb can already sit up great in the Bumbo seat

He loves to be in it and watch Blake play... and tries his best to play too!

And he's got the beginnings to crawling going... holding himself up on his arms and trying to scoot his legs (I'm sure it will still be a little while before that happens, but for a baby who hates being on his stomach this is a huge start!)

Blake giving him some company on the floor and playing peak-a-boo!

Picnic at the river

Granddaddy, Blake, Kaleb and Momma had a fun picnic at the river last week

Blake trying to get the chocolate off his face!

Momma took Blake way out in the cold river... so surprised I didn't end up soaking wet!
He had fun, but was ready to get back to the rocks and mud!

Blake + Water + Dirt = A fun mess at the river!

Blake was eager to dig his hands in the mud

He loved squishing it through his fingers!

Then he decided to just sit right down and rub it all over him... what a boy!

Can you read his shirt? It says DIRT MAGNET... Sooo true, so true!

Skippin Rocks

Granddaddy only had to show him once and he was throwing like a pro!

He would count... ONE, TWO, SEVEN, EIGHT every time he threw! (I promise we count over a dozen times a day, but yet he skips from two to seven every time???? Oh well, its cute!)

Granddaddy told him to splash Momma with rocks... thanks Dad!

The progress of Kaleb's foot

For those of you who may not know, Kaleb was born with his left foot "club." Basically this means that either it was caused by being stuck in the wrong position in the womb or developing that way from the start- we aren't 100% sure which. Either way, it was a condition that needed fixing! The orthopedic doctor decided the best decision was to treat it as a true club foot. The outline of treatment was to put his left foot in a cast for 6 to 8 weeks (changing it once a week to allow for growth and to check progress) then, to do a minor surgery called a tenadomy (where they cut his Achilles tendon) and put him back in a cast for approx. 4 weeks. After that he would go into a brace that he will wear 27/7 (except for baths) until he starts to crawl, at which point he will wear it only at night. We thankfully only ended up having 5 weeks of Kaleb being in the regular casts and another 3 weeks after the tenadomy. He has been in the brace a little over 3 weeks now and is doing just great! He has handled this whole process much better than most babies from what we hear and were prepared for... in fact, he is already turning over from his back to belly! We are so thankful for such a sweet, happy spirited little boy!
